ACM@UC
ACM@UC, the student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery at the University of Cincinnati, is UC's computer science and programming community.
When I first joined the ACM@UC, Association for Computing Machinery’s student chapter at the University of Cincinnati, I had no idea what I was getting into. I mean, I knew it was a computer science and programming organization, but I had no idea just how much fun, laughter, and growth it would bring into my life.
But as I got to know my fellow ACM@UC members, I realized they were some of the most welcoming, kind-hearted, and hilarious people I had ever met. They made me feel like I belonged, even though I was just starting out in the world of computer science. They would always lend me their time to explain a concept I was struggling with, with a smile and a joke.
One of my favorite ACM@UC memories was when our team took part in a coding escape. We were given a series of puzzles to solve before the timer ran out. We had to work together and use our coding skills to find a solution. We were laughing, cheering each other on, and in the end, we won! It was a bonding experience like no other and it brought us even closer together as a team.
Being a member of ACM@UC has not only made me a better computer science student, but it's also made me a better person. I've learned so much about the field, made amazing friends, and have memories that will last a lifetime. And all while having a great time and laughing along the way.
